Fleeting days flicker as we are travelling.
Over shortcut bridges, through speedy subways.  Dwelling places passing by.
Who else hoped and dreamed here, somewhere?
Leave the ones that left.

Fields unfold as we are travelling.
Past greener pastures, under bluer skies. Silver clouds forming high.
Who else wandered and wondered here, somewhere?
 Leave the ones that left.

Windmills turn as we are travelling.
Along stretching miles, through expanding minutes. Layered earth rumbling low.
Who else ached and longed here, somewhere?
 Leave the ones that left.

Sparks burst and we stop.  Yet we are travelling.
Under dimming stars, beside hushing shadows.  Distant dawn pacing slow.
Who else cried and died here, somewhere?
Leave the ones that left.
But they inspire me toward tomorrow.
